Executed Well

Although touching, I can't help but question the accuracy of the bombing. What's the point in bombing empty fields? What's the point of targeting a random couple in the empty field? Wouldn't the planes want to save their bombs for buildings and highly populated areas?

I didn't know what to expect from this, but I was surprised when I heard the voices. It was good voice acting (moreso on the girl's part than the boy's, but only slightly).

The drawings are nice, but the animating quality seemed decent at best, the entirety of the conversation was headshots so you need to add detail to the faces. There wasn't much facial movement during the conversation, their faces seem to always have that one expression up until they started running away from the planes, so it always looked like a static image when they were talking despite the hair and clothes waving in the wind, and the mouth movements didn't seem to match what they were saying most of the time.

Music selection was top notch. Not much to say. Every song went perfectly with each scene.

The idea behind this is good, and you executed it well here, not amazing, but well. My critique is more about polish to your animating technique than to your storytelling, writing, or otherwise.

If you can make smoother animation, and animate faces more, it would sincerely complement this nice story you have here.

Still wondering about those planes' intents and reasons though.

Dante's Mouth

Something really irks me about Dante's mouth. You used that same kind of mouth in your Wilhelm Park flash on the Boy character. It seems to overlap unnaturally on the outsides of the lips and he kind of looks like a fish.

The rest of the parts in your drawings are really nice, and you've improved in your animation skills here since Wilhelm Park.

I can't help but chuckle every time Morrigan says "Carlos DeSUZAAH."
Very nice voice acting on Caxx's part as well.

no way dude you love that mouth

technically, this Flash actually utilizes inferior animation techniques :(

Stiff movements and Odd Mouths

The movements and facial expressions seemed kind of stiff during the opening conversation scene. Afterwards, though, you animated the Girl character really well.

There's something about the Boy character's mouth that seems off. The outside parts of his lips are overlapping the bottom part and they just stay there while the middle part of his mouth moves when he speaks. Yet, you don't have this problem when drawing and animating the Girl character.

Hope this helps.

Very well done

This has to be one of the best NG Radio flashes on Newgrounds. If you were to do none of the changes below I would still have no complaints.

I'm listing these changes based on the desktop download version of this flash.

Some bugs I found (bugs should always try to be fixed):
- If I click the "Random" button it will continuously play songs from random genres regardless of my station preferences.

- In the desktop version if I make the window big enough, it reveals an extra hidden button not available to the Newgrounds embed version. If I click a genre from the list under this button it will ignore my station preferences and play songs only from the last selected genre.

I don't know why this button is here, but if it needs to stay try to make it so it doesn't alter station preferences.

- After having the previous two bugs happen, I now have to deselect my station preferences in order to play them. Otherwise it just plays any random song.

Closing the application resets all the bugs and it works normally as long as I don't touch the "Random" button or the extra hidden button.

Some important changes I think should be considered:
--- Add a tracking bar for the song currently playing
This would be very helpful because sometimes I'll listen to a song, check out a different song, go back and have to start from the beginning. Maybe put it somewhere like between the Play buttons and the song title.

--- Add a way to play songs only from your favourites
I'm sure once someone has used this for a while and has accumulated a bunch of songs in their favourites list that sometimes they might want to just listen from their favourites.

--- Add a shuffle and repeat button for when you play from favourites
This would just be an addition to the suggestion above.

Some minor changes I think would be helpful, but aren't very necessary would be:
- combine the Play/Pause button into one button
- add a stop button to stop the song so you can replay it from the beginning.

Thank you very much for such a wonderful Radio flash!

Excellent

Suggestions:
- Option to view no visualizations at all because it seems to add to lag quite a bit.
- If possible, load the next song while the current song is playing so that the next song will play instantly.

I'm not exactly sure what signing up does. It gives me my own channel, what does that mean? Does it mean it will play my favourites or will it play stations that I selected (trance, techno, etc.)? If the latter, how can I do this?

Otherwise, this is an excellent flash. I've always wanted a radio station that played good music. :D

Continue? *no choice* --GAME OVER!

I think this could have used a continue system or lives or something because once you get to the later ones (like 8,9,10) it gets harder and it's kinda BS that you have to start ALL OVER again. Even ONE extra chance to do a battle would suffice because it is a fairly simple game, I don't think you'd need more than 2 lives. I say this because the wait time (because it's a quick-draw game) is kinda long, combined with the fact that the entire premise of gameplay is based on pushing a single button. So, some people (like myself) will end up getting impatient because of this.

Otherwise this is a pretty neat mini-game flash.

Good, but threw me off

I felt the beat of the triplet (but not really a triplet, not sure what else to call it, I suck at music terms) was -&2&-&4&, but it was really 1-2&3-4&, so I was taken off guard at 2:24 when the bass drum came in RIGHT at 1 and screwed up my momentum with the song.

So, I had to recalibrate myself to the beat and then listen to it and it wasn't as enjoyable as it was when I thought it was the former beat.

If the beat was steady and kept with what I had in mind, I would have already favourited, and downloaded and wouldn't have written this review.

PrEmoEffect responds:

I'm still trying to figure out how it sounds off. Oh actually, I can sort of see why that could happen. I tried to emphasize the last note of each beat so that it wouldn't quite sound like that. Anyway, I'm glad you like the rest of the song at least. Thanks for the review.

Enjoyed

I thoroughly enjoyed this track. You could probably stand to balance out the sounds a bit to make it better, but I was able to enjoy it as it is.

It reminds me of Megaman 64/Cave Story.

Fireflies - Owl City

I found what this sounds like, but only at certain parts.

Good song.

Japillow responds:

Thanks for saying it's a good song :D
